Bone Metabolism Biomarkers for UK & Irish Laboratories | Oxford BioSystems at Mellanby 2026

We are delighted to announce that Oxford BioSystems will be returning to the 15th Annual Mellanby Research Centre Meeting on 6th March 2026 in Sheffield. Having attended this event for many years, we are looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues, sharing the latest developments in bone metabolism research and showcasing our portfolio of high-quality biomarkers for UK and Irish laboratories.

As a company specialising in the supply of quality kits and reagents to laboratories across the UK and Ireland, at this event we will be sharing more about our products designed for the measurement of biomarkers related to bone metabolism. These assays, developed and manufactured by internationally recognised manufacturers, including Biomedica, Tecan IBL and BioVendor, support the assessment of bone health and the diagnosis and prognosis of bone and kidney related diseases.

Our portfolio is designed to support a range of laboratories, including academic researchers, biotech and pharmaceutical teams and clinical labs. We provide reliable assays that can be used to study bone health, monitor disease progression and evaluate the response to treatment.

Below is a selection of some of the products from our wider portfolio, including assays for Vitamin D, bone turnover markers and key regulators of skeletal biology.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D plays a central role in calcium and phosphate homeostasis and is widely measured in both research and monitoring applications to support skeletal health. Deficiency is associated with conditions such as rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis and pregnancy-related complications. At Oxford BioSystems, we offer a range of Vitamin D assays for reliable detection.

  • 1,25 (OH)₂ Vitamin D ELISA

  • 25-OH Vitamin D, Total ELISA

  • Free 250 Vitamin D ELISA

Bone Metabolism Biomarkers

These biomarkers are widely used in research and monitoring to study pathways involved in bone remodelling and mineral homeostasis. Products such as Sclerostin, Osteoprotegerin, and sRANKL have emerged as effective circulating markers of diabetic bone disease.

  • Sclerostin ELISA

  • Osteoprotegerin (OPG) ELISA

  • Free soluble RANKL (sRANKL) ELISA

  • Dickkopf – 1 (DKK-1) ELISA

  • FGF-23 Intact and C-terminal ELISAs

  • Osteocalcin ELISA

  • Periostin ELISA
