The Testline Microblot-Array technology successfully combines ELISA and Immunoblot technology.
Specific recombinant proteins/antigens are spotted onto a nitrocellulose membrane on the bottom of wells of a microtitre plate, providing an identical environment to that within the classic line-blot strip-assays. The assay protocol can be fully automated on a standard ELISA processor so the Microblot-Array technology eliminates the bottleneck of traditional blot-processing and opens up the way to high throughput testing.
Each antigen is spotted in triplicate in every well to minimise statistical variation and assay protocol controls are included in every well. The assay offers high sensitivity and excellent reproducibility. Results are reliably recorded and analysed using the Microblot-Array Software in combination with the BioVendor Microblot-Array Reader.
The BioVendor Microblot-Array Reader is a high quality colorimetric microarray reader designed and optimized for 96-well microplate format, taking only 2 minutes to scan a full plate.
The Testline Microblot-Array Software has been developed for user friendly analysis of results. The user is guided throughout the process, enabling complex image analysis including evaluation and comparison of results and connectivity to LIS. Automated centring of the well, spot localization and image acquisition simplify the process of analysis.
In terms of human health, the most important Chlamydia pathogens are Chlamydia trachomatis, Chlamydia pneumoniae and Chlamydia psittaci. The Testline Microblot-Array includes specific recombinant antigens for the main membrane proteins of these pathogens, allowing for clear differentiation within a single well.
