Bacterial Grouping Antisera
Statens Serum Instituut (SSI) is a public enterprise operating in Copenhagen under the Danish Ministry of Health and Prevention. SSI Diagnostica produces a wide range of products complying with the highest standards of quality and supported by highly qualified product specialists and scientific consultants.
The extensive range of polyvalent antisera includes individual antisera and antisera pools for the typing of:

Culture Media
Culture Media formulations are developed at SSI for specific diagnostic purposes.
SSI Enteric Media (500g)
|
An indicator medium that combines growth differentiating and selective properties without loss of detection.
It can be used in all routine laboratories for the detection of all commonly found enteric pathogens, except Campylobacter.

- CMA 003 HybER™- zero, lyophilised.
Specialised Diagnostic Kits
Pseudomonas IgG CF ELISA kit
A chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection can be distinguished from a non-chronic infection by measuring the specific IgG antibody level in human serum and comparing it with the culture result. This is of relevance for cystic fibrosis patients in terms of treatment and monitoring progress
Dermatophyte PCR Kit
Nail infections are caused chiefly by T. rubrum and T. mentagrophytes. Traditionally, these species are identified from nail samples by culturing on medium, which takes 10-15 days to 3-4 weeks. The SSI Dermatophyte PCR Kit is a multiplex PCR system that enables determination of dermatophytes generally and T. rubrum from nail samples within 5 hours.
E.coli DEC PCR Kit
The DEC PCR Kit from SSI is a multiplex PCR system that detects virulence genes from diarrhoeagenic E. coli (DEC). Traditionally, this has been achieved by serotyping, followed by verocytotoxin cell assays, and therefore strains have previously been overlooked where they have virulence genes that have not had a serotype known for its pathogenicity. The DEC Primer Kit therefore makes it possible to identify more precisely pathogenic E. coli strains.
Bacspot Colony Counter
The BacSpot Colony Counter from AID GmbH is a compact, automated solution for the fast and accurate enumeration of bacterial colonies on standard agar plates. The system recognises barcodes and the software can be used to store high resolution colour images, organise and count colonies, exporting data to a database, an Excel spreadsheet or LIMS. Reports can be customised for viewing and printing. Designed for high throughput analysis, the system is suitable for large clinical laboratories, environmental monitoring, food testing and pharmaceutical and industrial laboratories.
