CVDefine®
CVDefine®, manufactured by Athera is a test for measurement of IgM antibodies against phosporylcholine (anti-PC). Low levels of anti-PC indicate a risk of future development of cardiovascular disease. CVDefine® is an ELISA kit for early detection of lesions in the artery wall caused by inflammation.

NTproCNP, proANP and BNP fragment
Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) are members of a family of hormones secreted from the atrium, ventricle and vascular endothelial cells. Three receptors, type A (specific for ANP and BNP), type B (specific for CNP and ANP) and the clearance receptor, have been characterised. The mature form of BNP, secreted predominantly by the cardiac ventricle, is formed from a high molecular weight precursor, proBNP (1-108).
BNP is stored in the human cardiac tissue mainly as BNP-32, with a lesser amount of the precursor peptide, proBNP (1-108). The circulating plasma forms of BNP are BNP-32, a high molecular weight BNP form that has not been well identified, the BNP fragment and the amino-terminal portion of proBNP (1-76). NTpro-CNP, proANP and BNP fragment are all available manufactured by Biomedica in the ELISA format.
ADMA (Asymmetric dimethylarginine)
ADMA is an endogenous inhibitor of NO synthesis. ELISA kits are available for human, mouse and rat.
Immundiagnostik have recently launched a new ADMA Xpress ELISA kit (article no. K 7860) which provides results within 3 hours:-
-
Superior to our competitors in terms of assay time and temperature robustness
-
Has been validated by excellent correlation with LC MS/MS data
-
Correlates well with the data received by our prior ADMA ELISA version
-
Easily automatable
Adiponectin
Human Adiponectin is expressed and secreted exclusively by adipose tissue. Adiponectin is a hormone that plays a role in the regulation
of glucose and lipid homeostasis. ELISA kits for both human and mouse and as sandwich and competitive as well as HMW are available from a number of manufacturers.
Please use our product search to view our Adiponectin products. A document referencing relevant publications is also available to download.
Homocysteine
High levels of homocysteine has been linked to cardiovascular disease. Oxford Biosystems has available an ELISA, HPLC and an enzymatic method.
MPO (Myeloperoxidase)
Myeloperoxidase deficiency is a hereditary deficiency of the enzyme, which predisposes to immune deficiency. Antibodies against MPO have been implicated in various types of vasculitis. Recent studies have reported an association between myeloperoxidase levels and the severity of coronary artery disease. It has been suggested that myeloperoxidase plays a significant role in the development of the atherosclerotic lesion and rendering plaques unstable. ELISA kits are available for human serum, plasma, stool and urine and for mouse and equine.
Nitrotyrosine
Nitrotyrosine is a product of tyrosine nitration mediated by reactive nitrogen species such as peroxynitrate anion and nitrogen dioxide. It is detected in large number of pathological conditions and is considered a marker of NO-dependent, reactive nitrogen species-induced nitrative stress. Nitrotyrosine is found in numerous disease-affected tissues.
ELISA kits are available for EDTA plasma and stool and for multispecies.
Resistin
Resistin also known as secretory adipose tissue-specific factor (ADSF) or C/EBP-epsilon-regulated myeloid-specific secreted cysteine-rich protein (XCP1) is a cysteine-rich protein that in humans is encoded by the RETN gene. ELISA kits are available for human, mouse and rat. In primates, pigs, and dogs, resistin is secreted by immune and epithelial cells, while, in rodents, it is secreted by adipose tissue. Resistin is a cytokine whose physiologic role has been the subject of much controversy regarding its involvement with obesity and type II diabetes mellitus.
Retinol binding Protein
Retinol-binding protein 4 has recently been described as an adipokine that contributes to insulin resistance in the AG4KO mouse model It is secreted by adipocytes, and can act as a signal to other cells, when there is a decrease in plasma glucose concentration. ELISA kits are available for human and rat.
