Immuno-modulators
IBL International has a comprehensive range of ELISAs for the detection of a variety of immuno-modulators including:
IBL International offer the only commercially available ELISA to measure HMGB1 (cat# ST51011), a protein which acts as a cytokine exhibiting similar pro-inflammatory effects to TNF-a and IL-6.
HMGB1 is present in the nucleus and cytoplasm of mammalian cells and is involved in gene transcription as a chromatin binder. It can be released passively as a soluble molecule from necrotic cells or may be actively secreted from inflammatory cells, thus it acts like a cytokine with similar pro-inflammatory effects to TNF-a and IL-6.
HMGB1 is therefore involved with any diseases coping with dying necrotic cells, examples include, sepsis and septic shock, stroke, cancer and viral infections. There are over 2,000 scientific articles published regarding HGMB1, with over 100 of these having used the HMGB1 ELISA.
We are now also able to supply Cytokine-HMGB-1 for research purposes from IBL

Cytokines

Haematopoiesis is a complex developmental process in the formation of new blood cells, which is regulated by a cascade of proteins known as haematopoietic cytokines. Many of these proteins are multifunctional, involved in the very early differentiation stages as well as the later formation stages. The haematopoietic cytokine ELISA range includes interleukins and colony stimulating factors. ELISAs for soluble cytokine receptors and growth factors are also available.

Chemokines
Chemokines are chemotactic cytokines, a super–family of small secreted proteins, which induce directed chemotaxis in nearby responsive cells. They are involved in leukocyte traffic, recruitment and recirculation with their main functions being 1) to attract leukocytes to sites of infection and inflammation, 2) to aid the homeostatic circulation of leukocytes within tissue. They therefore play a critical role in many patho-physiological processes such as inflammation and infectious and autoimmune diseases. The chemokine ELISA product range includes C-C motif and C-X-C motif chemokines.

Cell Adhesion Molecules
Direct cell-to-cell contact is facilitated by an array of cell surface molecules known as cell adhesion molecules (CAMs), which interact via ligand-receptor binding. CAMs are essential for leukocyte migration and appear to play a role in T cell activation. Soluble CAMs (sCAMs) formed as a result of shedding and ‘de novo’ synthesis of truncated soluble forms may represent important biomarkers for inflammatory processes, which involve activation or damage to cells. The CAM ELISA product range includes three of the major families of proteins that mediate cell-to-cell interactions, the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF) CAMs, cadherins and selectins.

Apoptosis Markers
Apoptosis is a physiological form of programmed cell death and is an integral part of the natural life cycle of cells. It plays a pathogenic role in a number of diseases including cancer, viral infections and autoimmunity. Apoptosis can be initiated via two alternative pathways 1) the death receptor pathway or 2) the mitochondrial pathway. The apoptosis ELISA product range includes death receptors, death inducing ligands, caspases and granzymes.
